Filmmaking is not only the creative endeavor of the director. It takes many hands and minds to make a successful film. This festival incorporates several skills that our high school students learn everyday, including language and writing, drama, photography, fine arts, computer technology, business development, leadership, math, and science. From the screenwriting, acting, cinematography, editing, and even through the artistic creation of the SVVSFF festival trophies, we strive to provide opportunities for the entire student body to participate and to bring together a multitude of talents. Additionally, SVVSFF provides students the opportunities to learn from industry professionals through several workshops held during the festival.
Formerly known as the Niwot Student Film Festival, this is the first year that the St. Vrain Valley Student Film Festival will be planned and presented by the students of the Colorado Creative Careers Student Organization from CDC and Niwot High School. SVVSFF is open to middle and high school students in St. Vrain Valley, Thompson Valley, and Boulder Valley School Districts.
Submissions will be accepted beginning Monday, April 3 and running through Saturday, April 15th. Late entries will not be accepted.
