Our Mission
Our mission is to promote Colorado as a location for making feature films, television shows, television commercials, still photography, music videos, and emerging mass media projects. We assist production companies with scouting and permits, serve as a general liaison for both production companies and Colorado communities. The office also manages the production incentive program, conducts educational seminars, and works to create new business opportunities that will create jobs and economic growth for the state.
Personalized Service
When you choose Colorado as your location, you get our personal attention as a passionate advocate and partner, no matter what the size of your budget. We will do everything we can to assist you with finding locations, acquiring permits and serve as your liaison to the state and it's communities. Once you’ve shot in Colorado, you won’t want to shoot anywhere else.
Focus On New Media
An area of particular focus for us is New Media, which includes animators, game developers, computer programmers and all kinds of media convergence. The Office is here to support both companies headquartered in Colorado and those just here for a specific project. Colorado is one of a very few states that extends our production incentives to video game developers, so if you have questions about the incentive program check out our incentive page or call Kevin Shand at 303.592.4065.
We host an annual Digital Media Symposium in February in conjunction with the Boulder International Film Festival. We will be releasing more information about the 2011 symposium shortly.
We believe that we are one of just a few Film Offices in the country with this kind of commitment and support for new media. If you want to find out more about what is happening in Colorado please sign up for our monthly newsletter, Focus on Colorado.
